just registered? create your first event...

OK, you've just registered and logged in. You're on the My Q&A account page and there doesn't appear to be a lot going on. Lets create your very first event. At the end of this quick exercise you'll have a good idea of the how to use Advanced Q&A.

There are 3 elements to an Advanced Q&A event. The participant, the Q&A paper and the Q&A event itself.

Step one

Lets create a Q&A paper from one of the many free templates. From the menu bar click on My Q&A Library then click on Import a free Q&A template and you find yourself looking at the catalogue of free templates. Select the Q&A template entitled Demonstration Template within the Latest and Other Stuff grouping and push the Import Free Template button.

You have now copied this template into your personal library of Q&A papers and can use it to create an event. You can edit any aspect of the Q&A paper you just imported but lets leave that for now.

Step two

Click on Group Participants from the menu bar at the top. From the listing below you will see a default participant created when you registered called Joe Public and several sub menu options. Select Create Event.

Step three

You are now on the create a new event page. Give your event a name and description of your choosing, both fields are mandatory. Next you will see the Q&A paper option with a drop-down select box listing the only paper in your personal Q&A library, the Demonstration Paper we imported earlier. Next are two check boxes, click them both we want to be able to execute this event many times and we want the participant (Joe Public) to be able to view their scorecard after completing the event. Lastly, leave the final drop-down option as a --Private Event and push the Create Event button.

That's all Folks!

You are now back on your My Q&A account page and the event you just created is listed below for your convenience. Not to painful we hope? Now lets execute that event by clicking on the unique event reference number displayed in the Link column. Complete the event at your convenience.
